SPONSOR A STUDENT
"We Believe Every Child Can Excel If Given An Equal Chance."
Donate to a Cause Where Results Can Be Measured One Child at a TimeYear after year economically disadvantaged students’ experience continued learning loss simply because they do not participate in any type of additional academic enrichment program. As a result these students perform significantly lower than their peers starting in kindergarten and continuing throughout their educational career. The stress and self-esteem issues these students face at an early age is tremendous and should not be accepted by any of us. To make matters worse these students are not only ignored but they are labeled as lower achievers, below grade level, or simply unmotivated students. Our current education system has labeled this gap in achievement as the “Achievement Gap”. Unfortunately, the intent and purpose of this label has fallen short. We have become too comfortable at placing blame on our students. We have accepted the “Achievement Gap” as part of our education system. This is unfortunate. We at Equal Chance are asking you to join us in changing our acceptance from tolerance to belief. Join us in believing in all students regardless of their background, learning needs, or test scores. Join us in accepting that the achievement gap is our creation. It started in our communities and we have allowed it to spread across our country. Join us in ending the blame game and working towards a solution. Join us in providing students with effective academic support specifically designed to meet the needs of each student. Join us by becoming a sponsor in our “Sponsor A Student” fundraising event. Together we can remind a child that school is a place where dreams do come true. Our “Sponsor A Student” program enables local businesses and benefactors to help close the achievement gap. Through our program, you can help provide the resources needed for a student to attend a student specific academic program all year round. In doing so, you will not only make a dramatic difference in the life of a student, but you will help to change the face of education in our country.
